"The reasonable man adapts himself to the world; the unreasonable one persists in trying to adapt the world to himself. Therefore, all progress depends on the unreasonable man." - George Bernard Shaw
So I set up a video camera and recorded an intersection near my home for twenty minutes. Over the past few weeks, I’ve observed several people blowing through the sign and very few actually coming to a complete stop and I’d always thought “I should record that.” I would have though the presence of a video camera might make people modify their behavior. Nope. In the whole twenty minutes, only one car stopped completely. Here’s a video of some of the funner “California stops.”
So, I might add a couple pages, like “info” and “favorite links” and “music” and the like, and I might change the colors (tone ‘em down a bit, that is), but I think this will work for now. All I’ve got to do now is remember to update the damned thing from time to time! For now, it’s time to edit video…
I think I finally found a WordPress theme I can live with. If you’re looking at this early-on (and let’s face it, if you are, you’re one of the few and the proud), it looks a complete mess. BUT, it has POTENTIAL! I just have to do a little tweaking (OK, a lot of tweaking) to make it work how I want it. Hopefully, I’ll get some time tonight to finish it. For now, I have until the end of the Olympic hockey game (US vs. Canada) to do as much tweaking as I can.
I’m going to concentrate on losing the weird four-leaf-clover icon, maybe changing the colors, and fixing the sidebars so they’ll fit my latest Dailybooth posts, my Twitter feeds for both DoomedChildhood and plain ol’ ChristopherMast, and links to my other social network stuff, like YouTube, etc…
I feel like a contestant on one of those remodeling reality shows.
