I almost left a comment when I saw the “Hello world.” post earlier.

    ;-)

Looking forward to more regular updates, since I don’t use Facebook and Twitter that much anymore because of the time lag.

to this day, the best Coffee Cake recipe I’ve ever found was via GOPHER to University of Minnesota. If only I had an oven here in Korea.

Glad to see that you got the site up and running again, CM.

Tiger will be back for the Masters…and yep, he’s going to win it.  I mean you figure he’s got something to prove again.

I like this article. As avid lovers of coffee and for someone who consumes 10-12 cups, your post sticks. I like the style of writing too! Great job!!

Hi, I browsed your site while searching bing for espresso. Your website is really amazing and I liked the theme. Just thought would let you know that I have bookmarked it. On a couple of pages I also encountered a server error and after refreshing a couple of times was able to view the pages. Thank you

Glad to see you’re back. Keeping one central location, be it this blog or something else, is your best solution. As Steve points out, there are plenty of people out there who enjoy what you do, but don’t use Facebook, Twitter, et al. So, hooray for more options.

Obviously, you found a way to tie back your other social media here, but have you seen that you can easily share this site with the rest of your social media outlets (as long as it’s in the list of 30, that is)? One big happy family…

Different fields of our life take lots of efforts, thence why must we waste valuable time for comparison contrast essay composing? That’s better to utilize a classification essay writing service to order the essay thesis at, I think so.

The few, the proud, the MASTheads.

I like the layout. I’m too busy and not motivated enough to get my own domain yet. I like my layout, but I would love tweak some of its functions… but then again, I love the minimalistic feel to it.

They voted in the last election. They won’t in the next.

  14. JimmerSD on March 18th, 2010 6:31 am

Agreed. Most people don’t have any idea what is in any of these bills. Actually a lot of the language in the house bill was cut and pasted from previous Medicare legislation. The rest give gifts to the health insurance companies with mandatory coverage and fines. The system of health insurance must be fixed, Blue Cross rejects initial claims as a matter of course and has as far back as I can remember. I remember my mother resubmitting her claims to them and mumbling about ‘this little game we have to play’. I guarantee that no matter what measures the legislature takes the insurance companies will figure out a way to skate around the requirements.

BTW the profit for Anthem BC was 4.2 Billion…with a B. This is down right criminal.

The sooner we get away from for a for profit health insurance system the better we will all be.

Hm, what’s the best word to encapsulate how these examples make me feel? Quick, to the Thesaurus-mobile! [cheesy sfx]

    Appalled
    Disgusted
    Nauseated
    Outraged
    Repulsed
    Revolted

It seems like there should be more, but those will do for now.

  20. Pete on March 29th, 2010 8:01 am

I am going to respectfully disagree with your thesis. The only thing Facebook (or any social media site) shows you is what a person wants you to see or believe. From already knowing people and upon reading countless bios, status updates, random postings, it’s mostly bullshit. How many people do you think are completely honest?

Sure, there are innocuous truths like “I love pizza”, but does that really tell you something about them? I love reading things like “I don’t let people [insert bravado about random behavior]” when, in fact, they allow people to do that to them all the time. “I don’t [insert accepted bad behavior] or I do [insert accepted good behavior]” is merely code for “Actually I do those things, but maybe not as much as others.”

I don’t mean to be cynical here, but people are rarely who they say they are – especially online.

  21. Christopher on March 29th, 2010 8:56 am

Hmm… I guess I didn’t fully communicate my point. What I meant by “knowing” the person who’s wall I would comment on is that I know him personally. We went to college together, we hung out quite a bit when I lived in Moline, we went on road trips to car shows together, he’s visited me in California and I’ve visited when I get back to the Quad Cities. This is someone I’ve known since before there was an “online,” pretty much (yes I know that bulletin board chats and usenet existed, but I think you know what I mean). I know from first hand experience this guy finds humor in things others would be offended by. So what I meant was, although I know he’d laugh at the idea of being called a “special needs child” in response to his posting information about such a subject, the people I don’t know that run in his circle might not find it so funny.

  22. Christopher on March 29th, 2010 8:58 am

Wow, Mast… mix verb tenses much? Oh well.

  23. JimmerSD on March 31st, 2010 8:59 am

You can’t mandate by force of law that a person lose weight. Since the majority of the American public are considered to be obese, to not test for the norm would be scientifically dishonest and criminally negligent. And right now (unfortunately) obese IS the norm, you struggle with it yourself.

Then again, even if we were all within what is deemed to be the correct BMI there are still differences in height and shape that can lead to a person not surviving a crash that would have no effect on another. Automobiles should be designed to protect all occupants no matter their physical state but that would make them way to expensive.

    meh

  24. Christopher on March 31st, 2010 10:53 am

I’m not thinking they need to “mandate” that someone lose weight (although I think there ought to be HUGE mandates on education regarding high fructose corn syrup and what “all natural” really is compared to what the food companies claim – pff – like that’ll happen). I just find it funny that the response to the study isn’t something like “wow… we need to educate people that this is one more risk of being obese” it’s “wow… we need fatter dummies.”

Oh, and by the way, they determined that the marathon-running crowd has twice the risk of dying in a crash as someone with a normal or slightly higher than normal BMI.

What I do know is that, independent of “official” testing, Mercedes, Volvo, and Honda (maybe some other companies too) already have fat and skinny dummies to test their cars.

  25. JimmerSD on March 31st, 2010 3:10 pm

:) Yeah. I saw a guy yesterday that had to weigh in at 550 to 600 lbs. He had stopped at the quicky mart for a quart of milk. I guess it was a snack. As I stood behind him with my diet Dr Pepper I noticed that he was (No kidding) twice as wide as me. TWICE! Now I’m no piker at 5′10″ 260lbs..(yeah yeah yeah…) But OMFG!!!

Now the really unbelievable part was that he tottered out to a Dodge Neon. That’s right! A compact car!

And yes the car did lean to one side when he got in it….I watched.

Momma if I get that big just hit me in the head with a hammer….

    I’m just saying.

  26. Christopher on March 31st, 2010 4:38 pm

Actually when I was shopping images for this blog post, I was looking for one where the car leaned to one side because of an obese person… kinda like in “What’s Eating Gilbert Grape.”

I like how when you’re logged in your comment goes right through but when you’re not I have to approve it… and sometimes your regular avatar shows and sometimes it’s the “Default Monsters.” What’s with that?

I have like a million different email addresses (well not a million, more like 5) and sometimes I hit the wrong one.

There are too many caption’s I could throw in here… hahaha Instead I’ll just chuck in a joke.

A leather-jacketed punk with a multi-colored mohawk sits down on a bench next to a middle aged guy in a suit, who’s reading a newspaper. When the punk spits at a bird looking for some crumbs, the man motices him as if for the first time, turns slightly, stares at the punk and then, somewhat wondrously at the kid’s rainbow-colored hair…then nack to the kid again.

The teenager sneers at him and says:

“What’s up? Never done anything interesting in your life?”

    To which the man replies:

“Well, yes, actually. That’s what’s getting me! You see, about 17 or 18 tears ago I once got so drunk, I had sex with a parrot….and I was just wondering if you were my son.”

LOL There you go. Oh, and my daughter is jealous that you can have pink hair and she’s not allowed.

  39. Dara on April 17th, 2010 2:14 pm

I have a few different ones:

“I think this pink color makes me look girly”
“Excuse me, I did not crap my pants”
“No, I am the biggest dork so back off!”

  40. Jerry on April 18th, 2010 8:41 am

You’d be pissed too if Hello Kitty puked a hair ball on your head.

I like your new Website design btw.

  42. Steve on April 20th, 2010 6:21 pm

I agree. It’s to clean and nice of a package. Plus, most of what’s on this “phone” is still part of the speculation circulation. I would really like to have the new phone with a second camera. I’ve gotten used to making video calls here and would love to be able to use video calling on a Skype App with the new phone.

  43. Christopher on April 20th, 2010 7:33 pm

    I don’t doubt it’s the real thing… I doubt its “accidental loss.”
